These tours are different from our usual vineyard experiences and are designed to add an element of adventure to your next wine experience. We combine the outdoors with great wine, food and even better company. After all wine is about bringing people together to experience something special
Wine and Paddle
Wine with a splash…
We’ve teamed up with local adventure company Exe Adventures for this one. A wine tasting with a difference. Head to the water’s edge in Exminster, where we paddle the still waterway to the famous Waterside Pub. Groups get the chance to paddle a variety of craft, including individual or double kayaks, family canoes and stand up paddle boards. You’ll then be transported by minibus back here to the vineyard for your Wine and Cheese experience!
You’ll have the Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting, where you’ll explore the Estate, hear all the stories of the Motley Cru and how the vineyard came about in a most unorthodox fashion. We’ll taste at least 4 of our wines with some incredible views out over the Devon countryside.
As well as this we’ll taste our artisan sparkling cider and you’ll also be treated to our famous deli feast platters in our stunning safari huts overlooking the vineyard.

Wine and Shoot
Wine with a bang…
For this experience we’ve teamed up with local adventure centre - Ashcombe Adventure. A wine tasting with a difference. Kicking the morning off you’ll be transported down to the adventure centre via Estate land Rovers where you’ll be greeted with bacon sandwiches and coffee.
You’ll then get cracking with a 50 shot clay experience with one of Ashcombe’s expert instructors!
After that we’ll transport you back here to the Estate for lunch with our famous deli feast sharing platters before rounding out the day with a tour of the vineyard, tasting all our wines al fresco as well as tasting our cider in the orchard.

Wine and Mud
A proper Wine in the Wild Adventure
For this adventure, we’ve teamed up with Westcountry Land Rover Experience to create an action packed day out.
Meet here at the Estate at 8AM for coffee and pastries. We’ll then transport you over to the experience centre in our own Land Rover Defenders. You’ll experience a culture shift here from old Defender to new Defender.
At the centre, you’ll be greeted with coffee before a briefing and then you’ll be unleashed onto the off road course where you’ll have 3 hours with an expert instructor to help guide you.
At the end of the experience we’ll pick you back up and transport you back to the Estate for a 2 course lunch. We’ll then head out into the vineyard for a wine tour where we’ll taste all our wines al fresco in the vineyard and you’ll hear all the stories of the “Motley Cru”. Finally, to round out the day you’ll be treated to a wickedly indulgent pudding.

Wine on the Waves
Fish & Fizz!
Our **new** WINE on the WAVES Adventure is a fabulous experience to share with your Family & Friends.
“Tiger” (the boat) can easily take 8 guests on board with no need for any prior Fishing experience. All you need is to make sure you are wearing plenty of layers which can always be removed if you are too warm and of course sensible shoes. You are on a Boat afterall.
Meet here in the Winery Building at for Coffee at 9.00am. Our Wine Hosts will be here to greet you and chat through the day’s adventure.
Your Wine Hosts will then pack up the Estate’s Land Rovers with The Motley Cru Picnic Hamper Basket and bottles of our Cheeky Fizz Prosecco-style Sparkling Rosé Wine and transport everyone down to Starcross where “Tiger” will be waiting for you.
Time to set sail and cruise along the stunningly beautiful Jurassic Coastline. Our Skipper is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and knows all the best sites to be able to try out your newly acquired Fishing expertise.
A Feast awaits you inside the onboard Hamper Basket. It’s full of artisan delights and local produce. Accompanied by our deliciously chilled Wines.
Any Fish caught will be brought back to cook outdoors at the Motley Cru Chill & Grill Bar with another member of The Motley Cru Team. It’s always a very lively affair. Fish will be grilled and served with our fabulous Salty Fries drizzled with Truffle Oil
& sprinkling of
Parmesan Cheese and pan-fried Vegetables with other Seafood Delights, none other than our Tiger Prawn Tostades - a huge favourite from our “Taste of the Mediterranean Dining Experience”.
